The Gluon engineering team have been putting the finishing touches on a brand new Scene Builder release. Scene Builder is a drag & drop user interface designer for JavaFX. Scene Builder allows for rapid iteration and separation of design and logic files allows for team members to quickly and easily focus on their specific layer of application development. Now that Java 9 is available we are pleased to announce that Scene Builder 8.4.0 and Scene Builder 9.0.0 have been released. These releases bring considerable improvements including:
- Support for Java 9,
- Built-in templates for desktop and mobile applications: get started building your apps even more quickly
- Improved support for the mobile UI controls provided in Gluon Mobile,
- A large number of bug fixes and performance improvements
From here on out Gluon intends to provide releases for Scene Builder that will operate on Java 8 and Java 9. For people staying with Java 8, you should not worry about feature development winding down on Scene Builder 8 – we plan to support both for a long time to come and will maintain feature parity to the best of our abilities!
