We are very pleased to announce that in the past two weeks Gluon has received confirmation that IWT, the Flemish government agency for Innovation by Science and Technology, is now co-funding the development of both of our commercial products: Gluon Mobile and Gluon Cloud.
We are so incredibly honored by this announcement – this six-figure investment will allow for us to more rapidly develop our technologies. We can hire even more full time developers, and they can work exclusively on Gluon Mobile and Gluon Cloud.
To receive this funding, the Gluon business plan was put through a barrage of reviews by IWT, and came out the other side with a glowing endorsement. This means that, together with us at Gluon, the Flemish Government are able to see an opportunity for an end-to-end solution that includes Java on the (mobile) client.
All in all, this is yet another big step towards the release of the commercial Gluon libraries. One of the biggest Java dreams is about to come true for a new generation of mobile devices: write once, run anywhere will soon be true for iOS and Android devices, and with Gluon Cloud they will be able to connect to everything. It truly is an exciting time for Java.
