Gluon CloudLink simplifies the provision of high-quality mobile apps to a broad range of users and device types, with varying degrees of functionality.
Mobile users expect rich, polished, and good looking experiences. Enterprises on the other hand have as their core expectation the need to efficiently convey important information to their end users. It is critical therefore that enterprises have access to tools that make it trivial to provide a compelling mobile experience.
Gluon CloudLink allows you to upload media files, which can be retrieved by the mobile device. Rather than hard-code the path to a specific media element, developers refer to a media element managed by Gluon CloudLink. This allows for content management without redeploying the mobile application. Simply upload a new version of a media element in Gluon CloudLink, and the mobile clients will render it.
Different mobile devices have different form factors. A single media file for all those form factors can be provided, but it is recommended to provide different resolutions for different devices. Using Gluon CloudLink, you can upload a number of variants for the same media element. Based on the client’s capabilities, the best matching variant will be rendered on the client.
Textual content can be managed in the same way as media content. This has the advantage that the mobile app can already be shipped to the app stores, but the exact content of some text can be modified last minute, or even real-time.
Leveraging the Java resource bundles, it is even possible to provide different content based on the user’s locale and language preferences.
